So I've completely finished my xoxo Mini Album. Yay! I have only 2 more layouts to share with you and a final album walk through. In today's blog/video I want to share this really sweet page I made for my grandma Pat.
Those of you who have been following me for awhile know how much I just adore my grandma. If you didn't know, she has Alzheimer's but she is one of the sweetest, most lovely, kind people you'll ever meet. As I wrote this letter it stuck me that a lot of these things she'll never remember or probably never hear but I wish I could say them and I wish she could understand them so much. I wish while she was still 'with us' mentally... but I never did. It's seriously such a great reminder that we need to tell the people we love, how much we truly love them. We never know when they won't be around anymore or when they won't understand it.
I mean, the truth is I tell her every time I see her how much I love her... but it's not the same. It's not the same as someone who deeply feels it, understands it and remembers it. It's just not. The heartbreaking part, for me anyways, is that my grandma doesn't know I'm her granddaughter and she probably hasn't know, for at least the last year and a half.
I'm so glad I made this page though - sometimes just writing down the words and feelings is just what we need to work through things. Seriously, scrapbooking is the best - isn't it.
On this two-page spread I used some papers and embellishments from the Pink Paislee Paige Evans Take Me Away Collection as well as some journaling cards and papers from my Quilted Hearts digital/hybrid collection. But my favourite thing I used by far was the We Are Memory Keepers Alphabet Punch Board. I used a bunch of the scraps from this album so that it would all tie together and punched out "grandma." I love how this giant title just pops!
All in all, I love the way this layout turned out and I'm so glad I wrote down these word.
