So Many Questions

As soon as I tell someone I'm planning on moving to Kenya to work at Rift Valley Academy in a few months, they immediately have a thousand questions - as I'm sure you do too. During the month of February, I want to answer some of the most frequently asked questions.

If you have any questions you'd like me to include, please let me know.

Where are you going and when?

It's crazy to think that in 5 months I'll be on a plane headed for Kijabe, Kenya (just north of Nairobi). My hope is to arrive around July 10, 2019, so that I can get settled before Africa Based Orientation from July 16 - August 6 which is right before school starts at the end of August.

Why Rift Valley Academy?

Rift Valley Academy (RVA) has been an answer to prayer for thousands of missionary families for the past 110 years. RVA is a ministry of Africa Inland Mission. Their mission statement is "educating and discipling students toward their potential in Christ thus enabling families to serve."

Why Africa Inland Mission?

Africa Inland Mission's vision is to see Christ-centered churches among all African peoples. Rift Valley Academy is a critical part of that vision because it provides high-quality education and a safe haven for children of missionaries who often live in remote locations.

How long will you be gone?

I plan on going full-time with Africa Inland Mission. This means that I have committed to at least one term of three years and a home assignment but I truly feel like ministry and missions is a full time calling on my life.

How can I pray?

Right now, I really need prayer for all of the things I'm juggling. I want to finish well at work, as well as the external contracts I have. There are a lot of things I need to do before I can leave for Africa Inland Mission. Please pray for good time management, organization and strength to do everything I need to do in this busy season.  I really appreciate your prayers.

How much money do you need to raise?

I have a financial support target of $2500 per month which provides for housing, living expenses, health insurance, ministry funds, etc. In addition, I need $24,000 in special one-time gifts for flights, moving expenses, training, visas, house set-up, etc. The financial deadline for my funds to be in place is June 10, 2019, one month prior to my departure.

How can I help?

Would you consider joining me as a monthly supporter? If you choose to begin your monthly donation now, your gifts will also help towards my outgoing costs. Special gifts towards outgoing expenses are also greatly appreciated.
