December Daily Is Almost Here...WAIT...It Is Here!

WAIT…. IT IS HERE! I am so stinkin’ excited right now. December is here and it’s my favourite time of the year!  I love everything about December! I love the snow, sweater weather, Christmas, lights, sparkles, presents and DECEMBER DAILY!

I love this project so much and I have been im-patiently waiting for it for what feels like years (aka the last two months). My album is waiting, my camera is ready, and my scissors are at hand – it’s the first day and I could not be more excited.

And even better… I’m going to have a new video up EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! Yep! Every day during the month of December I’ll have a new video posted.

Wait… that means there’s a new video today! Yep.

Today I’m up decorating my DD album cover.

I love, love, love, love it! It’s sparkly and gold and kinda/seriously epic! I am so happy with the way it turned out and I’m so excited to share it with you.

Now I know I’m going to get some questions so here’s a couple notes:

Step 1: Using gesso paint over the cover. It took me 3 coats.

Step 2: Mix faux snow (aka sparkles) with matte modge podge.

Step 3: Pain/spread the mixture all over the cover. It kinda feels like you’re painting with cream of wheat… it’s okay to spread it pretty thickly.

Step 4: Painstakingly wait for it to dry… maybe try and speed it up with your heat gun… wait some more… heat it up again…. watch Gilmore Girls reruns.

Step 5: Trace a star on a piece of paper, and cut it out. I found a star on google.

Step 6: Trace the star on the cover with pencil lightly. It’s kinda bumpy but it still works out well.

Step 7: Fill the whole star in with gold star sequins (purchased at Michaels)….using hot glue gun. Avoid burning your fingers… you will still burn your fingers…but crafting callouses will form making invincible in the future.

Step 8: Stand back in awe at your creation… yep…it’s awesome and you are an epic crafter.

Step 9: Find a ribbon or trip you like and add it to the front and back cover along the edge.

It’s that easy and that epic…I mean it took you like 4 hours (including dry time), you ruined one paint brush (with glitter and modge podge), and you burn your fingers at least 4 times… but IT WAS ALL WORTH IT!!!

Gha I love it.

Are you decorating your cover? I’d love to see…post an image or a link in the comments.

xoxo Tori

P.S. check back tomorrow for a new video.
