Christmas Eve was magical and special and profoundly beautiful… I seriously couldn’t wait to journal about it and to include it in my December Daily.
I even made a two page spread – I know… totally not me. But it was fun, maybe I should try this more often.
On the left hand page I created almost a divider between the 22nd/23rd and the 24th. On one side I used one of the beautiful gold printables I designed which you can get for FREE here. On the other side I used a 6×8 print by Jasmine Jones which I purchased from Ali Edwards in last year’s December Daily kits. I matted that print on a black and white diagonal stripe from Felicity Jane. I love how the stripe really makes the print pop. I kept that page super simple by just adding a tiny bit of Wink of Stella to the letters so there would be some glitter and one enamel dot on the i.
On the right hand page I included a photo that I like to take every year. Almost every year I go to a candlelight service on Christmas Eve. When the room is dark, and the candles are lit and we sing together I feel such peace, love and joy. I snagged a photo of my bright candle in the darkness. I always feel like this photo epitomizes the reason for the season – Jesus bringing light to the world.
On this page I added some more of that black and white diagonal stripe – I really like how it ties the two pages together. I also grabbed out this really beautiful gold foil Project Life card from my stash that reads “No Greater Love” – this is also hand lettering by Jasmine Jones (if I’m not mistaken).
I added my journaling to the right and it reads:
Mom and I went to the candlelight service at In2One. It was a bit chaotic just before because mom fell, but the service was profoundly beautiful and meaningful. I seriously can’t think of a better way to spend Christmas Eve. It truly puts everything into perspective. Tears came to my eyes as I stood there singing Silent Night. What a perfect reminder of the greatest gift ever given and a stunning reminder of God’s grace and love for mankind. there truly is no greater gift than a God who would give his own son for me.
I finished that page off with some faux stitching around the journaling block, my chipboard number 24, and some adorable sparkly white enamel dots and shapes from Freckled Fawn.
I love the way this page turned out. I’m so glad I included it and thankful I had the space to share this story. I truly feel like it brings it all back into perspective and so beautifully highlights my reason why page too.
