Sometimes when it comes to December Daily we feel like we have to take a stunning photo and make a fantastic layout – but then reality hits and we’re stuck at home sick and the only photo we’re able to grab is an iPhone photo out the window. Well December 2nd was one of those days. Thankfully just as I was about to take the photo it began to snow – the first snow of the season!
So I decided to make a simple page to match my simple photos…and to be honest I love the way the page worked out.
I started by grabbing some vellum from my stash (sorry it’s really old and I can’t remember where it came from), added the day 2 number and decided to add some stamping. I used Stazon jet blank ink and a ‘sweater weather’ stamp from Felicity Jane. I did grab some black and white star paper to put behind the vellum too. Originally I had planned to stamp the date on the vellum but when I did it, I hated the way it worked. So I grabbed this cute “BRRR it’s oh so cold” paper from the Snow and Cocoa collection. I fussy cut one of the phrases and placed that on the bottom of the vellum pocket. I love the way it turned out!
To add my journalling to this page I decide to grab my black sharpie and write on the photo along where the road is. It was the perfect place for a little bit of journaling.
For the last pocket I had a photo of a branch with a little snow on it, grabbed a label to use my roller date stamp on, and topped it off with a couple of stars that I stapled on. The label and pink matting paper are from Felicity Jane. The red acetate star came from an old December Daily kit by Ali Edwards. And the gold star sequin came in a Michaels‘ sequin pack.
The lesson for today – simple is beautiful and simple is done. I created a process video – like I usually do, if you want to check it out, you can watch it here
Hope you enjoyed checking out day 2 in my process and that you have a lovely day! I’ll be back tomorrow with another page, another day, and another video.
xoxo Tori
