I had tons of fun creating December 11th in my December Daily album. I decided to add a tag and a large photo – two of my favourite things! I also mixed black, white and gold and it seriously makes me so happy the way it turned out.
The first thing I did was open up illustrator to size my photo correctly. I believe the photo is 5×8 while the tag is 5 1/8 by 10. This is a Tim Holtz Distress Mixed Media tag by the way – which I purchase over at Simon Says Stamp. I trimmed down the tag to make it so it was 8.5 inches long… it’s a bit taller than the page protectors, but I like how it pops up above them a little.
The first thing I did was trim down this acetate divider from Ali Edwards – it came in last year’s December Daily kit. I’ve really wanted to use it for awhile and I feel like I finally found the perfect excuse. I cut off about 1 inch on the right hand side so it would line up perfectly with the tag.
There was about an inch and half on the top of the tag where the photo left off and I wanted to create a pretty little topper for that section. So I grabbed out out some left over star vellum I had in my stash (this vellum came from Michaels). I punched the edge with an adorable doily border punch. Topped it off with some black and white stripped washi from Felicity Jane and a gold glittery hole reinforcer. I finished that off by adding my number 11 for the day.
The next step in my process was to add my journaling. So I grabbed out some two labels, stapled them together and added my journaling. I don’t know what it is, but I love the look of two labels like that… it just looks so pretty to me. To finish off this page I grabbed some gold glitter stars from Freckled Fawn and a few enamel dots from my stash.
I love how bright, cheery and happy this page is! Not to mention the adorable chalkboard outside of my favourite bakery – “All you need is love and Christmas cookies”.
I do have a process video if you’d like to check that out. You can find it here
