100 Days Of Less Hustle More Jesus // Day 1: Embossing Invitation

After weeks of struggling with my internet which wouldn't let me upload videos, I was finally able to get day 1 of the 100 Days of Less Hustle More Jesus Devotional process video up. I'm so happy to FINALLY start this journey with you.

Today's devotional was all about coming Home to Your Heart. What really stood out to me today was this idea that the Lord invites us to rest in him.

Songs of Solomon 2:10 "My beloved spoke and said to me, “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me."

As we begin this journey, I thought it would be a good idea to share with you how I study the passage. While I know this process is different for everyone

  • Begin by spending some time with the Lord in prayer. Ask him to open your heart and show you what he has to say to you.
  • Read through the devotional and Bible verses. Underline, circle, highlight anything that immediately stands out to you.
  • Read the Bible verses within the context and read the Bible verses in a few different versions. I usually look it up in NIV, ESV, NLT, the Message using the YouVersion Bible app or biblegateway.com which both let you switch back and forth between versions.
  • Write down anything you notice, any words that stand out to you or versions which help you understand the passage a bit better.
  • It might be helpful to check out the dictionary for any words you don't understand or would like a better understanding about.
  • From here I usually look at what stands out to me and this becomes the inspiration for what I want to journal or create.

Today, what really stood out to me was this idea that the Lord is inviting us to rest in him. So I created this embossing resist using some letter stickers, the embossing dabber and some emerald creek embossing powders. I love this technique because it creates such a cool effect.

If you'd like to check out the process video, you can find that here:

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you accept the invitation to rest too.

xoxo, Tori
